Installation in the old Postoffice in Geldrop, to be seen from the outside, thru a spyhole. Temporary, untill the building will be thorn down.
The site specific – installation, contains two apparently disconnected works, Typographus (nature) and Scapes (culture), seeking to communicate with each other and the viewer. Scapes is an installation of multiple circles covered in plastic scales, hanging low from the ceiling, illuminated and moving, like a living organism. With this work I want to evoke a feeling of wonder, emotion and lightness. Guests can walk around, sit under and (almost) touch it. Typographus consists of a tree, eaten by the typographus (bark beetle). To emphasize these natural gluttonous spores, looking like calligraphic signs, are “inlaid with gold”.

Sekimori Ishi Modern.
Sekimori Ishi (boundary-guard stone). According to ancient Zen tradition one or more stones are cross bound with twine and placed on paths in Japanese gardens. They signify in a clear and yet subtle way that the path is closed.
A 21st century interpretation of a 16th century Japanese tradition.
For ‘Sekimori Ishi Modern’ 23 artists have been commissioned to replace the traditional materials (stone and twine) with alternative materials that demonstrate this ancient tradition in a modern way. Artists from Belgium, France, Germany and the Netherlands are displaying two or three modern interpretations of the Sekimori Ishi from within their own discipline; glass arts, ceramics, illustration, photography, sculpture and painting.
This sculpture was created for the SEKIMORI ISHI MODERN exhibition). In the period from September 2013 to September 2015, this international traveling exhibition was shown at several locations in the Netherlands, Belgium and France (www.sekimori-ishi-modern.com).

2020 Yes, but how does it grow?

Never too late to bloom, Installation
Germination, that is what it is all about.
In the city of Hefei, a lotus has sprung from a seed, tracing back to the Ming-dynasty, 600 years ago. Sometimes you have to wait a long time for the right circumstances, but it is never too late to bloom. That counts also for me…
It is a interactive installation, you can walk through the space and experience what is like to walk under water, also a world to dwell in.
Material: (waste)thread, wire, sequins, carton walls

Dive in your own pond, Installation
This work contains a photograph on wood in a weathered door post.
In the photograph you see metal bowls with thread, like little ponds, that seem to move and a goldfish just dived into one of the ponds…
Often we stay “swimming” in our own pond, or social environment, with its’ own uses, conversations, education level, work, interests etc… sometimes you dive in another pond, also with its’ own uses, in the end we all hope to find Happiness in our lives.
In China the goldfish is a sign of prosperity, wealth and happiness…
